Goats Eye View

Goats Eye View from Mt. Siyeh

Medium: Graphic Design

'I felt the view from Mount Siyeh’s summit, the fifth highest peak in the Park, and one of just six peaks in the park over ten thousand feet in elevation--captures both a quintessential Glacier Park scene in terms of topography, but also one that few experience. I wanted to bring to public a dynamic, awe-inspiring demonstration of the vastness of this region, and the stark contrast between the smooth glaciated valleys and the jutted, knife-edge ridges that define the skyline. A lone mountain goat shares the story, gazing out across the abyss. I enjoy exploring the world around me with its infinite beauty, vastness and detailed complexity attempting in my art to simplify what I see. What comes forth in the creative process is a myriad of shapes and colors, choreographed into relationships aiming to capture the essence or gestalt quality of the scene.

The Centennial marks a celebration of a hundred years of millions in glaciation. How remarkable to be a part of this event.'
