My wife and I live in Maryland but have visited GNP many times. It is hard not to "stop by" the park when traveling West. We have hiked a number of the trails and our favorite campground is at Many Glacier. We hope to return in 2009 after leaving Alaska. We appreciate your really nice email newsletter.

I worked at Many Glacier in the 70's and really have super memories of that time in a very special place. Participated in the musical programs initiated by Ian Tippet and now I do research at the Minnesota History Center for people writing books on the park.

We have been campground hosts at Fish Creek, Avalanche, Apgar and Sprague at one time or another. We hiked most of the trails, stayed in the Sperry and Granite Park Chalets. Glacier is like no other place in the world and worth the trip from Florida, our home, to stay a week or all summer. We made many friends and stay in touch with them still.

I worked at St. Mary Lodge in 1975 and on June 19th, Divide Creek flooded the lower lodge, and the lower west hotel that housed many of the employees. After the flood, the lower levels were filled with mud and silt that had to be dug out and we lost all of the food that was stored below the restaurant. It took several weeks to get the lodge cleaned up and running again...but it was a great learning experience for me, and we pulled together and worked very well as a team!

Thank you for providing 'Glacier's Timeline'! It gave me an overall understanding of Glacier's history.
