‘My favorite hiking partner, my daughter, stopped on the trail one day, looking up at the mountains she said emotionally to me, "Look at where we are." We were in a stunningly beautiful place. Those emotions and feelings I try my best to capture in my paintings. I’ve tried to capture the vastness and mood of the landscape in this painting. The beauty and the sense of peace that being there brings. I hope my work can help people respect, observe, and protect all that we have in the park. I also hope it inspires creativity and engages anyone to step forward to assist in different ways to keep our park pristine.’
