Passages of Grandeur ‘My paintbrush was drawn to paint the classic, precipitous peaks and deep waters. And how could I not include the vivid fruits and flowers of Glacier’s wild gardens? I wanted to address the history of the park, from the Native Americans who first drew sustenance and spiritual inspiration from the land, and whose words are now names of many of the park’s mountains, to the introduction to modern transportation. The engagement of the railroad tycoons and politicians were crucial to the development of many areas of the park. I hope visitors will be inspired to dig deep to learn the productive history of Glacier- and become inspired to help preserve it. Preserving the treasure we have will ensure the learning and inspiration of many future generations of park-goers.’
